Renault Kadjar facelift: all-round improvements and a new turbocharged petrol engine.
The compact SUV proposes a new gasoline engine. The new kadjar debuts in Paris in October.
The French automaker builds the world with the new Kadjar facelift. The compact SUV has received many improvements, both technical and aesthetic, and the official launch is scheduled for the October Paris Motor Show.
Three years after launch, Renault Kadjar is now getting a facelift to help him fight his rivals in the segment. During this time, over 450,000 customers from 50 countries opted for the French model.
The aesthetic changes are subtle and include a wider grille with chrome inserts, sleeker design lines, slightly reshaping front spoiler, headlamps keep the C-shaped daylight marker, but now incorporate signaling, fog lights become round, headlamps Turns are now LED and the rear bar is more prominent than before.
Customers also have two new types of wheels, 17 and 19 inches, and three new body colors: Oural Green, Iron Blue and Highland Gray.
In terms of overall dimensions, the Kadjar facelift measures 4,489 millimeters in length, 1,836 millimeters in width, 1,607 millimeters in height and has a wheelbase of 2,646 millimeters. The luggage compartment volume is 527 liters with the bench in a normal position.
The ground clearance is 200 millimeters, the attack angle is 17 degrees and the clearance angle is 25 degrees.
Now that we’ve finished with the figures, let’s see what the French have prepared for Renault for the compact SUV. We have new colors and new trim, including Alcantara or 3D-effect textures for certain levels of equipment, a repositioned central console that now includes glass holders, the air conditioning control panel has been redesigned and above it is the new 7 inch R-Link 2 multimedia system.
In addition, the seats have a new design and are more comfortable, the front doors have a storage space for 1.5-liter bottles, the control panel on the driver’s door has been redesigned and the rear passengers enjoy a heating system improved.
From the technical point of view, Renault Kadjar facelift proposes first of all a new 1.3-liter TCe, developed together with the German Daimler giant. It is available in two versions (140 and 160 horsepower), has a particle filter and can be ordered either with a manual or EDC automatic transmission.
Probably the most popular engine in the range, the 1.5-liter dCi diesel, has meanwhile become Blue dCi after receiving a catalyst with selective catalytic reduction and developing 115 hp and 260 Nm torque.
The top of the range is the 1.7-liter dCi diesel engine with 150 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque. It is available exclusively with 4×2 or 4×4 manual gearbox and traction gearbox.
The good news is that you do not really need a 4×4 Kadjar to have fun on rugged terrain, as long as the 4×2 versions are still available with the Extended Grip system that shows its qualities on muddy or sandy roads.
