The Ford Edge has been updated for 2019 and is now the brand’s most technologically advanced SUV yet

Vignale is Ford’s biggest and most expensive family car. This updated version is equipped with all the usual driver assistance systems you’d expect of a new large car in 2018 like blindspot assist, front collision avoidance and automatic parking which Ford collectively labels Co-Pilot 360, and there’s also Ford Pass Connect, which incorporates a full suite of connectivity options.

One of the most significant mechanical updates is the introduction of a new four-cylinder diesel engine that uses a pair of turbochargers to develop 235bhp and 369lb ft of torque.
The eight-speed automatic gearbox that replaces the outgoing dual-clutch is smooth. The new intelligent all-wheel drive system that can decouple the rear axle entirely to save fuel.
the updated Edge has on its side is a very good powertrain, a mature set of driving dynamics, plenty of cabin space and more toys and gadgets than most buyers will ever bother using.
Inside is much the same as before, save for the adoption of a rotary gearshift mechanism that has freed up enough space beneath the centre stack to allow Ford to offer a wireless smartphone charging pad.
The SUV has also gained new safety technologies, such as a Stop&Go enhancement of its Active Cruise Control, as well as Lane Centring and Evasive Steering Assist features to build on the Ford’s extensive standard package of camera-based systems.
