Toyota Tundra is a full-size truck available in several configurations. Two engines are available for 2018 Tundra including a 4.6-liter V-8 rated at 310 hp and a 5.7-liter V-8 with 381 hp. A six-speed automatic transmission.

In 2018 Toyota Tundra receives a revised front new grille and a new TRD Sport trim that comes with a hood scoop, 20-inch alloy wheels and few more things.

The 2018 Tundra is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a powerful truck. Whether you just want a family hauler, off-road vehicle or powerful work truck, the Tundra can do it all.

The Tundra lineup isn’t quite as extensive. You can lease one for only $349/month for 36 months.

Either V-8 is smooth and strong, but the 5.7-liter is only marginally thirstier while delivering far more power. Floor the 5.7 and you’ll be rewarded not only with ferocious acceleration, but also with a muscle car exhaust note.

Aiding the V-8s are smooth-shifting automatics; they might be down on gears compared to the latest 8- and 10-speed units used elsewhere, but they get the job done well.

There’s plenty of space for five adults in most versions.

History

The Toyota Tundra is a pickup truck manufactured in the United States by the Japanese manufacturer Toyota since May 1999. The Tundra was the first North American full-size pickup to be built by a Japanese manufacturer.

The Tundra was nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award and was Motor Trend magazine’s Truck of the Year in 2000 and 2008. Initially built in a new Toyota plant in Princeton, Indiana, production was consolidated in 2008 to Toyota’s San Antonio, Texas, factory and is the only full-size pickup truck manufactured in Texas.

The first generation Tundra had many similarities with the older Toyota T100 and the compact Toyota Tacoma. These included the shared use of a 3.4-liter V6 engine which was the top of the line engine in both the Tacoma and T100.

The V6 engine would serve as the base engine for the Tundra, while a second engine was added, a 4.7-liter V8, the first V8 for a Toyota truck.
